He was there on D-Day, too. Even got frostbite on his feet & thought they'd amputate. Miraculously, he got better. Remainder of his life, he had yellow toes. He passed away when I was 10. Didn't sink in until the 3-volley salute and the trumpeter played at the funeral. What was odd is that Nazis couldn't kill him, cigarettes did. The best way to lose a friend is to talk about religion or politics. So I'll just quote a line from the TV show "the Prisoner". A man asked the prisoner (No. 6) if he would vote, he said "It's pointless". When asked why, he stated "Everyone votes for a dictator". Anyway, thanks for the lovely pics.
