I am so excited that I will be signing at this year’s AVN Expo in Vegas!!! This will be my very first time doing a signing and I hope to meet lots of people there.

Exciting!!

Last night I did a photo shoot with Amelia G. & Forrest Black of Blue Blood. It was the first time I’ve worked with them, but I have been an admirer of their work for a long time now.

They had a wonderful set Christmas themed set up, where I was in front of a Christmas tree (decorated in lights and skulls) playing in snow!! They special ordered snow just for the shoot, and it was so much fun to be in. I have never been around real snow, but it seemed very realistic to everyone at the shoot.

After we took some pictures of me posing in front of the tree, we pulled out a huge candy cane. I sucked the candy for a while, then I used it as a toy on myself. It was ooey, gooey sticky fun!

I just discovered that Gram Ponante wrote a charming story about the VL party on his blog Porn Valley Observed. He’s such a witty writer, that it makes me feel lame that I don’t have a witty thing to say here…..
I do however, thank him for ALL his kind words and support! The thing I loved most about his story was the title, “April Flores: Diva”!!!

Last week was the official DVD Release Party for Voluptuous Life!! I waited so long to post about it because it has taken me this long to fully digest the fabulousness of it all!

The night started off with with me getting my hair done by my talented cousin. My sister and her friends came over to start the party early, and while I was getting my hair done they were doing tequila shots. I wanted to drink, but I was too nervous and excited.

I had been planning my outfit the entire week leading up to the party. I wore a sheer vintage slip, with bubble gum pink lingerie underneath. I paired that with pink fishnets and rasperry colored heels and a matching clutch. I also treated myself to a beautiful Swarovski jewled necklace.

My good friend Cherry, who is also in the movie, joined me at my house and we all went to the party together.

The party was held at a photo studio here in Hollywood. There were two rooms, the first of which was set up like an art gallery and had two flat screens continuously playing Voluptuous Life. There were also five prints taken by my Director Carlos Batts hanging on the walls in that room. The second room was more club like and had two dj’s and an open bar all night long!

Kimberly Kane and Cherry were the cast members who were there partying and posing for press pictures with me. So many other friends came out and supported us, including Gram Ponante, Dave Naz, Ashley Blue, Steve Diet Goedde, Eric Kroll, Ed Fox, Benny Profane, Amelia G. and Forrest Black, & Masumi Max (who I met that night)! It was amazing to have everyone there celebrating the release of Voluptuous Life. The night flew by! Carlos and I were interviewed, and we had our picture taken so many times! I have to be honest and say that I loved being in the spotlight!

Last night I did a photo shoot with my new friends Gia Jordan and Evan Klanfer. They are working on a project where Evan takes pictures of women who are erotic performers, but in a very beautiful, artistic way. Gia and Evan were a great team and you could tell they are totally in sync with the vision of this project.

The pictures were taken in front of a red background and I was sitting on a vintage bench. The lighting came from two big foto flo lights towering above and in front of me (this lighting was very flattering). I felt angelic in some way. I love being in front of the lights. I feel like I am taking part in something very magical and I always want to do my best to help the artist achieve his or her vision.

Evan used a 4 x 5 camera, which was an amazing machine. I had to take a picture of it because you just don’t see people using those types of cameras in every day life. After shooting for 3 1/2 hours we finished up and hung out for a little while. Evan and I chatted about our mutual friend, and Gia and I bonded over our favorite celebrity gossip blog, Dlisted. I have never met someone who enjoys this blog as much as I do! It was so great that we were quoting things we’ve read on Dlisted and sharing our love for the pure genius of blogger Michael K.

I hope to shoot with them again!

So last night was my big radio debut!!
My director and I arrived at the studio (which was conveniently very close to my house) at 9:45pm. The security guard let us in, and we waited to be let into the studio. It has been unseasonably cold in LA this past week, so I was glad to be wearing my raspberry-colored faux fur. They finally let us in, and we were ushered into the studio.
I had never been in a radio studio before, but it pretty much looked how I imagined. Control panels, buttons, computers and equipment everywhere. The Adult DVD Review Show was finishing up with the interview before us, which was with director Seymore Butts.
Once they were done, they told us that we were on next. This is when I started to get nervous… I was nervous about sounding like a big dork and/or fumbling my words.
Amy and Adam, the hosts of the Adult DVD Review Show were very gracious and engaging. They mostly talked to my director about his journey to becoming the artist he is today. It was so great to see him articulating his ideas and inspirations.
Then they asked me how I got started into modeling and ultimately performing for a moving camera. I told them that I got here by just taking every opportunity that came my way. I said that I want to inspire women of all sizes to feel comfortable being sexual and beautiful regardless of their weight. Once I got to talking, my nervous melted and I just enjoyed the moment.
I felt so sexy talking into the microphone. My voice sounded deeper and I loved it!
After 20 minutes or so, they wrapped up our interview. I was so happy and excited, that I felt like I was high! It was like the adrenaline rush I get after I getting tattooed. Natural highs, I am learning, are really the best kind.
