I’ve been seeing these crazy billboards all around town the past few days. They are just plain white billboards with letters declaring hate towards “Sarah Marshall”. They are obviously promoting something, but its really hard to tell exactly what from the words “You Suck Sarah Marshall” scrawled across a billboard. Turns out it’s a movie.
One billboard that really frustrated me said “My Mom Always Hated You Sarah Marshall”. I don’t understand why advertisers have such an easy time pitting women against each other, and putting women down in order to sell a product. Judging by the many billboards I’ve seen through out LA, this movie obviously has the money to spend on an extensive ad campaign. Why not do something creative? They went to the trouble of creating a blog by fictional character. Why not do a little more work and come up with a less misogynistic way to market the film? As a woman, I was offended by reading the hateful messages directed to “Sarah Marshall”. I can only imagine that little girls reading these statements are also affected by them.
This ad campaign was successful in getting my attention, but it not in the right way. I will not be watching this movie. In fact, I hate you “Sarah Marshall” advertisers!

Little girls do not need to be exposed to any more negativity regarding body image!!

Women hating other women. NOT a good way to advertise a comedy.

I am in the new issue of the unique and wonderfully bizarre magazine, BIZARRE!! I’ve been a fan of the magazine for a while now. In it, I am posing next to the amazing artist and friend, COOP. Check out the magazine and be sure to read the article. COOP discusses his art and the art world all while keeping it very real.
Pretty cool!!

They also reviewed the photobook, American Gothic by Carlos Batts. This book features works of art in many styles unique to Carlos and his one of a kind vision. I am truly lucky to know Carlos, and be able to work with him helping bring his vision to life!

Last night I had dinner at the very packed Chi Dynasty restaurant with Carlos, Eric, and Christine Kessler. I was so happy to finally meet Christine because I have been an admirer of her work for some time now. I hope to do a photo shoot with her sometime.
The food was pretty good, although the restaurant was so packed it turned out to be a three hour dinner. However, I didn’t mind because the company was great and I was very buzzed as this was my first time drinking since the surgery. The atmosphere in the restaurant was chill, but the staff seemed overwhelmed. We even saw a poor waiter fall right on his ass after slipping on the floor which was still wet from a fallen and broken glass.

Come celebrate the release of Young Hollywood! Directed by Carlos Batts and staring my good friends Ashley Blue, Kimberly Kane, Mandy Morbid, Lystra and more! I did make up on this fabulous film, and helped with the production.

The wonderful Fleshbot featured a Sneak Peek of Kiss Attack this week. Check out the pictures from the amazing production that I was honored to be part of.
Also, check out the Kiss Attack story on Gram Ponante’s site. He is too funny and I love reading everything he has to say. He also wrote a great story about my friend Alix Lakehurst which is also worth reading.

A few days ago I had my gallbladder removed. I am in a lot of pain and the Vicodin they prescribed is making me very nauseous. There has been so much happening in my life recently that has made me really see how fragile health and life truly is.
Here is a picture of my new body, sans one organ. I kind of like the way it looks, although I hope I do not scar too much. It’s cool that they did it laparoscopicly, only making 4 small incisions.
All I keep wondering is if the surgeon and the others in the operating room saw my breasts….
