I will be guest exhibiting work from my “Diary of My Miscarriage” Series Friday July 29th at Studio Servitu in Downtown Los Angeles. As I had said in my original blog post about the miscarriage, expressing this all through writing and especially photographing the experience has been a way for me to heal and process the experience. If you are in LA, please stop by!
The event does require an RSVP to either studioservitu@gmail.com or my email fattydelicious@gmail.com.
PRESS RELEASE
Carlos Batts x April Flores Photography & Art Exhibit Opening Date Friday July 29th
April Flores Exhibiting Self Portraits
April Flores is best known for being a muse and model to artists, directors and photographers around the world. Recently April stepped behind the camera to document herself during a difficult time in her life. As a way to deal with the physical and emotional pain of a miscarriage, April turned the camera on herself as a cathartic way to cope and grow from the experience. You can read more about this photography series on her blog at http://fattyd.com/blog/2011/07/05/diary-of-my-miscarriage/. April Flores will be exhibiting this series of deeply personal self portraits in conjunction with new photo-collages by Carlos Batts.
Carlos Batts Art Exhibit
Carlos Batts will be exhibiting work from his series of non digital photography collages. This is an ongoing series that originated from Batts creating mixed media collages as well as using a creative approach to darkroom techniques. He creates abstract cubist photography, a style which can also be seen in his film making productions. Batts constructs a one of kind negative to produce each unique print.
A brief glimpse into Batts working on his art photography collages can be seen on youtube.com/cbattsfly. After many years of being asked if his work was made on Photoshop, a brief sequence of his process has been uploaded and shared. Batts has embraced incorporating digital technology in his creative process, which is evident in his new film Artcore. Artcore was shot entirely on the Kodak Zi8 and is now available on tlacult.com.

If you haven’t ordered a copy of SOLA or ArtCore, you can do it now and directly from me! I ship all the orders out myself with love and add a sexy one of a kind gift to each DVD!
You can read about SOLA here. It is a 45 minute film that features five solo scenes of me fucking myself in some gorgeous locations. The film is directed by Carlos Batts, so it is done in his distinct artistic style with great music. Check out the SOLA photo gallery.
Here is the trailer for Behind the Red Door! I am extremely excited about this movie because it looks great and was a lot of fun to shoot.
The movie will be available on October 19th, and stars Ashley Blue, Kelly Shibari and Syd Blackovich!
I went to a fragrance launch event at Opus Oils last week. I had never been there before, and I was pleasantly surprised to find such a wonderful store here in LA! They specialize in making perfumes and fragrant, yummy teas.
The best part of the night was meeting Burlesque Legend Satan’s Angel, (who also has a fragrance & tea line through Opus Oils)! What a remarkable woman! We chatted for a while, in between her working the room. I was so inspired by meeting such a fabulous woman! I have recently been wondering how I will age and how much I will change as I grow older. I had a little fear in the back of my mind that I would one day wake up and not be the person I have worked so hard to become. It’s hard to explain, but meeting her completely changed my outlook on the future Me. She was so amazing and a complete inspiration!
Check her out in this video. In it, she discusses what she considers to be necessary for a good performance. I paid a lot of money to learn burlesque a few years ago and to be honest I learned more about the art form in this 10 minute video than I did in weeks of classes I took.
And watch her and her fire tassels in this one:
I really hope to get the chance to meet this Legend again!
If you are in the LA area, please come to this fabulous event! There will be a midnight screening of the Director’s Cut of Voluptuous Biker Babes, March 6th at the New Beverly Cinema. Doors open at 11:45pm and the cost is $7 at the door.
There will be *Free Gift Bags * Raffles * And Cast Members!
The best way to describe this latest Carlos Batts venture is that it’s kinda like an acid trip mixed with one of John Waters’ earlier movies…I don’t even think they make the right words that would encompass the sheer bizarre/amazingness… Hotmovies.com
…a trippy combination of “Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas,” “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,” and – I don’t know – Lucha Libre that features drag queens, desert dance-offs, and the ample talents of April Flores. Fleshbot.com
Here are some pictures from a photo shoot Carlos and I did a few days ago. We were inspired by this wig I bought for VBB, and The Twilight Zone Marathon I Tivo’d on New Year’s day. I have been watching it all month, and can’t help but be influenced by the stories and fashions.
I love how all the pictures turned out! It was a return to our old style using wigs and props, creating new Alter Egos to have fun with.
The Photo Gallery section of this site is down, but hopefully it will be working soon. I can’t wait to put them up!
I recently shot with Victor Lightworship. I have known him and his muse for a few years and we have always wanted to shoot together. We finally had the chance and he did some light bondage on my body and feet. I really love the color contrasts and story these pictures tell.
