~MY DOG BABY~
I was walking my dog today, and this guy in a passing by van yelled out to me, “Hey you look like your dog!”
I laughed at him because it was such a childish thing to do. What the fuck? I don’t know this guy and anyway, I think my doggie is really cute! This guy was actually paying me a compliment!
Then I had a flash back to age 12, at the local playground with my sister. We were playing tennis with our church youth group. As I bent over to get one of the balls, a guy (14 or 15 years old)passing by on his bike yelled out to me, “FAT ASS!” I was instantly crushed from the embarrassment and shock. I still remember that feeling to this day. It hurt me so much because I didn’t even know this asshole! I had never done anything to him, so what would provoke him to say such a hurtful thing? I ran to the shower as soon as I got home and cried and cried.
Since then I have learned that there are a lot of stupid people out there, and that you can’t let other people get you down. The less you care about what other people think, the better. I wish I could go back and comfort my 12 year old self. But I guess that’s the beauty of life; you live and you learn.
The reason I am writing this is because I am so happy that I am now at a place where I can laugh about these things instead of cry about them. I hope all girls, fat and skinny alike, can learn to be confident and not sweat the small stuff – or small comments from small people. Because look at me now, I am all grown up and have been on the cover of Big Butt TWICE! How bout that for Fat Ass! 😉

The fact that he noticed your ass means that something about it attracted his attention to an extent — it’s just a shame that his mouth obviously hasn’t caught up to his brain which secretly loves fat chicks.
